The Goal

“Nothing about us, without us.”

Waveguides Film explores the past, present, and future of Indigenous women identifying musicians, highlighting some of the more famous icons as well as the leaders of the next generation.  Our feature length documentary film will chronicle how each artist guides their voice forward & what social impacts they hope to make - from the micro to macro levels in society.  Our diverse cast will share unique perspectives not yet represented in mainstream media, along with commentary provided by celebrity musicians working towards racial justice.  We aim to show how separate experiences are shared through the music medium & what the future holds for Native storytelling in North America.

The cast & crew of Waveguides, including above the line roles, consist of majority Indigenous people who are reclaiming the ancestral art of storytelling in the film industry.
